HAIR LOSS

Hair Loss Treatments

Hair loss is a problem that concerns both men and women nowadays.

Hair has its own life cycle. The life cycle of hair consists of 3 phases.

    • 1st phase ANAGEN (lasts about 1 year up to 4 years, the hair grows about 1cm each month)

It is the most dynamic phase of hair growth. It is, therefore, the moment when the hair is born and grows.

    • 2nd phase CATAGEN (lasts 2 to 3 weeks)

This could be said to be the phase during which the hair stops growing.

    • 3rd phase TELOGEN

It is the period of time when the hair does not grow and shortly after falls out. It remains in the follicle for about 3 months before falling out. Then the phase of regeneration starts again.

The life cycle of hair has been wisely created because 90% of hairs are in the ANAGEN phase and only 10% in the TELOGEN phase. If this were not the case, then we would be without hair for some periods and then it would grow back again.

The passage of time and other factors, such as hereditary ones, can drastically affect the life cycle of hair. That is, from the first phase, a large percentage suddenly moves to the third phase of shedding.

Hair loss can mainly concern men but many women face this serious problem too. For women, it is certainly a factor that creates particular psychological pressure, as hair is known to be a factor of beauty and femininity for a woman.

Androgenetic alopecia is what troubles men. Various hereditary factors and environmental ones are the main causes of its appearance. In men, hair usually begins to thin and very fine hairs start to emerge. Then, instead of hair, fuzz is produced.

Thus, the change in the scalp becomes particularly noticeable.

In female hair loss, apart from hereditary factors, some hormonal ones also contribute. For example, the period of menopause often affects women's hair.

Other factors that can cause hair loss in women include:

    • Childbirth
    • The use of certain drugs
    • Diets
    • Stress
    • Thyroid disorders

At CityzenClub Niki Fotopoulou MED, we have invested in the most modern treatments against hair loss as well as for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia.

The PRP treatment against hair loss is a method where we use the body's own platelets to cause the hair follicles to remain in the regeneration phase.

The stem cell transplantation is an ultra-modern and particularly effective treatment that with only one session we push the body to produce new hair follicles.
